Lost Ethic…

November 21, 2011

Tired eyes see differently
-Deeper
Weary hearts holding more?

Exhausted legs resting easily.
-Sleeper
Oceans calling for shores.

And this
Is the long-lost ethic
Rest
Is the abandoned art.
In six days,
You shall do
All your work,
The seventh:

Set apart.

I can see hands in my head,
they can lift and build,
they can mold and sculpt
they can empty and fill.

This man in my head,
he can lead and love,
he can trust and wait.
He doesn’t; he does.

He knows how to finish,
He knows when to quit.
He labors long
For provision, he’s fit.

His name is,
“Can.”
An able man.

This maturity,
-this man I would be!
From thought into action,
Wish, to reality,

-Impossible
Beyond my scope.
So, in Christ my Lord,
I must place my hope.

Miraculous,
this work in me.
All through Christ,
and FOR God’s glory!

I’m only able to lead,
As I’m able to be led.
I cling to God-inspired
Words I have read:

“…it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”

and to do.

“And he that taketh not his cross,
and followeth after Me,
is not worthy of Me.
He that findeth his life shall lose it:
and he that
loseth his life for My sake shall find it.”

Loseth his life
-For My sake-
Shall find it
-For My sake-

I’m such a small man, Jesus…
Please, make me useful
in You,
to You,
through You,
with You,
for
Your
glory.

Humble me!
Sweep it all away,
-whatever I,
in arrogance, may

Try to tell myself,
would be fitting or good.
I don’t want merely, “Can,”
I yearn for servanthood!

I feel like such a second-rate friend.

Never even woulda thoughta that. (I thought.)

“Good for him.” (My mind said.)

I’ll put it on my list of things to remember…

Wait… what else is on that list?

I…

I don’t remember! =(

See… I’m a great -I mean horrible… friend. No- I’m a very poor friend.

————————–

I just went from the sarcarstic phrase “great” to the more accurate, but still slang term, “horrible” to the most correct phraseology, “very poor”.

“great” forces one to think upsidedown.

“Horrible” forces one to undervalue the actual meaning of the word.

and “very poor” forces one to consider the actual state in which one sits.

I am a “very poor” friend…

poor?  like money? no. -Well, yes, but no, that’s not what I’m talking about.

So, poor in what? friendship skills. I don’t have very many…

How are people poor?

Either by a fault of their own, or through unavoidable circumstances.

If I am a very poor friend, is it a fault of my own, or is my poverty the result of unavoidable circumstances?

Many people are poor because they are lazy.  Because they will not -or have not worked.

Perhaps this is the reason for my poverty.

I restate… I feel like a very poor friend…

Sometimes…

Anyway, enough of the Eeyorishness…

*whispers* Jesus…. isn’t dead, guys.

*Yells* Jesus isn’t dead, guys! =D

Haaaaappy Easter, guyzzzzuh!

P.S.

Car hoods are the perfect places to sit while looking at the stars! Thank You Jesus, for 1: Dying for me! 2: Not being dead. ;-D 3: Making Stars. 4: Giving me a warm car hood from which to watch them. =D

Promise of Summer…

March 24, 2010

A’ight… so…

Jackopierce… Pretty chill. -like fly… like uber-rad!

mannnnn… *shakes head* what a song…

Sleep well, all ya’ll… T.T.Y.S. (Yeah, you gotta say each one out in letter format.)

wow… I need to sleep… work’s tomorrow… and there’s a road full of snow for me to brave out there!

G’night, kids!

-MAC <>< = )

P.S.

Trust God.

My Dad did something I never would have expected the other day… it had to do with him leaning over to look at something…

I remember thinking… “Oh… hmmm… wow, cool.” (Profound, ‘eh?)

Anyway,

I’ve been sitting here for a while now, and I can’t bring myself to remember what it was he was looking at.

-The Dr. just said, “Sequester” =) In case you wanted to know. =)

Several minutes ago I played “Errand boy” and ran across the parking lot to our other office for supplies…

It’s sooo cold today!  I twisted my red and white, knitted scarf and was holding it right up under my chin as I ran…

On my return I happened to notice an arm wrestling match going on in the air between two of the receipt-checkers at the exit door of the warehouse.

Yes
Indeed

-I kid you not-

Two employees…

one, a bearded, smiling man;

the other, a curly white haired lady;

neither under the age of 60, had hands clasped and were playfully struggling for victory.

How…

…bizarre. =)

My day… was a great day…

Thank You, Jesus! =)

-MAC <>< = )

P.S.

I met a man today who told me I had, “A joyful countenance.”  =)

I told him that I thank God for it because without Him I’d have no hope of ever being joyful.

As we parted he said, “Some people do end up dealing with things, but yeah.”

And then… on the way out… I stopped to talk to a friend, who asked me how my life’s been going… I told him, “Better than I deserve.”  He laughed, went on to say that he’d never heard it put that way before, and asked me why it is I think I don’t deserve it.

I briefly -and incompletely- explained that God has standards… and I fall short.

He interrupted my thoughts, (I realized my mouth was no longer moving.) and asked me “You know that already, huh?”

As if no one could know until they’d died…

The bustle of shoppers urged me to exit, so I bid farewell to my arm-wrestling friend. =)

*shrug*… I’ve mixed emotions on how I handled things… but I thank God for the opportunities. =)

Now… off to my sister’s to wait for her to finish baby-sitting and hopefully watch a movie. =)

Dios le Bendiga! y Beunas Noches!

Me... bundled up to head to my until-recently, refrigerator-like car. =)

We had a semi-impromptu birthday party for my friend, Mee-shell! last night… after Awana…

So it pretty much didn’t start even until 10:00…

Oh, what delight… Parties… of the night!  =)

Anyway, “I-Zeck” actually MADE A CAKE!? =)

He ate more than anybody else and ended up quite the energetic young man by about 11:00…

Mr. A’s been reading Revelation and had some interesting stuff to say about Jesus’ righteousness and evil-doers drinking blood.

Something else he read made me think of this Michael Card song:

“Just and true are Your ways,
King of Ages
So great and marvelous are all Your deeds
Oh Lord God Almighty, who will not fear You
And bring the glory to Your Name.” -Song of the Lamb.

We sang “happy birth-minute” to the birthday girl on her birth minute! =)

(We even factored in daylight savings time. =)  She’s a Texan. =)

Mi brothre… played some ridiculously catchy Indian music-video on his blackberry, where people danced as if they were driving a pick-up truck and trying to rope a cow…

And a while later we…

had another King-Soopers adventure!

Consisting of:

-A rather loud discourse on the economics regarding the Eggo waffle shortage, while on the scenic route to the frozen pizzas.

-Movie recommendations…

-The Great Chocolate Milk dilema!
(“Only Viva?!”  “No -no Store brand beautiful-ish-ness?”)

-A deduction that Yosh’s grandmother is the ONLY known grandmother in the whole world who made a special phone-call to implore her grandson to stock up on all the canned pumpkin he would need for the holidays, due to the impending “no more pumpkin mush for the next few months!!!” crisis.

-All topped-off with a birthday ride on a penny horse named Biscuit.
(It took forever! lol… like 5 minutes.
She turned so red.
Mi hermano: “Look, she matches the Red-box.”)

We all then piled back into my refrigerator of a car!  and returned to watch Cyrano de Bergerac! while I used an oven stone for the first time ever! =) to cook the pizzas.

Cyrano de Bergerac… quite an intriguing story… pretty good movie too… I’ve been hearing nonsensical French babblings in my head ever since.

Moi teh peh jzu… sah la mon clah per see… te fwi.

???

(What was the last word of the whole film you ask?  “…Panache.”)

Ok, so maybe you didn’t ask… but I just had to tell you.

Aaaand… this morning I woke to my roommate yelling at, and chastising, one of my horribly mischievous cats!

Now my toes are cold… and I have the rest of a Tuesday for God to tell me what to do. =)

What a grand life! =)

All this before the winter-of-the-week, known as “work” sets in.  And yet, there are benefits to winter…

Winter causes one to sit back a bit -to stay in one place more often… to focus.

Such does my work.

Au revoir et adieu! mis amis!

-MAC <>< =)

Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast.  For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
