More Than Those Who Wait for the Morning…

December 25, 2016

Christmas?

Christmas.

Christmas

Again?

‘T’as been the season

To be

To be…

When

Another tumbler

In this lock of time turns

Another leaf of a lesson

From the school of life burns

When will the bolt slip

Finally free

From the door-frame between

Me -future- Me?

For the Door sitting silent

Allows mystery

As a draft

Of the future

To seep

Frigidly

So

Sweaters or furnace

To keep out what chills?

Naming

And

Blaming-

Him?

Baaah!

All this “joy” kills.

I understand now,

Why the WEARY world thrills

With hope, rejoicing

At a baby being born

For thence, yonder, breaks

Our new

And glorious

Morn!

————————

“My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning— Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.”

~‭‭from Psalm‬ ‭130
