Tend…

April 13, 2014

“Let there be light…”
Et
Cetera.

Of wonderings
I have
A plethora.

Some of which:

I wonder if the newly made world
Heard of His, “…very good.”
Or if it, the extent
Of that sentiment,
Really understood.

For, at the benevolent,
Forbearing behest,
Of a good God who just couldn’t
Help but know best,

And with such
Sharp stillness,
Meet motion,
Sweet
Art!
His patient,
Weighty,
Wisest-heart

Decidedly began
To slowly unveil
The puzzling pattern
Of a darker travail

On this little speck
Of dirt, air, water, light…
Precious little more, post-sin,
Than a pretty, sad sight
But it all was made
Blessedly,
Beautifully,
Right

By the purpose and blood
Of our Dying-King,
Who-so has since bought us for…
(Bought for us?)
A most precious thing:

The favour of His Heavenly Father.
Yes He, Our once-dead God,
Obeys,
Intent upon
The truth
(By which we
May
Confidently:
Trod

Life’s paths rolling out before us,
However smooth,
However straight,
However rocky,
With windings great,

And be
Ever-sure
Of our journey’s end.)
That with every deep descent
And every blinding bend,

HE
Who IS love,
May lead us to death
Out on faith’s fateful limb
Where

-Will we trust?-

All of His purposes are still “…very good.”
And inevitably tend
Toward Him.
