sigh…

February 20, 2011

Mid-board game…

A wind blew
Through the house…

That backdoor open a crack…

A front window or two cranked ajar…

And wind… a breeze really… blew through -back to front- pushing the creamy curtains aside, gently… firmly…

The moving curtains caught my eye… I stopped… stared… smiled… and sighed… as the brevity passed.

That breeze… As if God, too, was sighing, just like He did at sunset, day six… just taking it in… the last little bit in the completion of a beautiful thing…

“And it was very good.”

knowing the nature of the Hebrew word for “sigh”…

My mind begins to wander through truth… and I wonder: does God ever regret allowing sin into His “very goodness” ?

Has he ever sat up at night and felt that twinge of remorse, for having given up the soundness of the Seventh day?

I ask all this, while knowing… that before the foundations of the world, all that would come to be, was already in His mind… the sin, the brokenness, the distance… His patience, His mercy, His grace… Jesus… redemption… and ultimately a re-Creation!

All this fluttered gently in that first sigh… all this… is what would fill up Our Creator’s words:

“It
Was
Very…
Good.”

God pours this thought, and floods my heart, with one, little, evening’s breeze, perfectly timed in The Scheme. His Scheme. =)

Breathe it in… and live it out…

Even with all its brokenness…

“now” plays its part

in what God has called: “very good.”

Shalom…
