Past Perhapses…

May 24, 2010

If I asked you, would you come?
If I told you would you go?
If I tried, if I did confide…
Would you melt like snow?

Water running through my hands…
Joining the stream of past perhapses…
In the inbetweens, my conscience cleans,
And afterwards, collapses.

“Danger,
Keep out!”
The red letters,
Silently shout.

And the weary wanderer…
All warnings, disregards.
With each trespassing step -owner

More closely guards.

The risk of revealing who we really are to someone is indeed a dangerous process…enjoyed thinking about your poem.
