The moon is God’s… the stars are God’s… I… am God’s…

December 1, 2009

I was…

Going to stay up until the moon sunk lower… to take a picture…

But….. =(

It’s sinking slower than I had anticipated…

I took a random picture it was pretty much directly overhead…  (This is not the picture I wanted… I had something much more radically creative in mind.)

So… I think I’ll saunter silently down the stairs… and let my video-gaming brother know that I will no longer need his late night help -at least not this night.

(In other news: I lost -yet again- to my computer at the infamous game of chess.  This time on skill level 1 even!)

It’s quite late, and my sister says my sleep schedule’s broken.  I do agree.

We played a wonderful game called Grounders this evening…

For those of you -as of yet, unlucky, but soon to be lucky- persons…

here is a basic summary of the necessities and rules:

2 things are needed…

1.  People… preferably 3 or more… (leaning toward the “or more” end of things. =)

2. A playground (The kind with slides, walkways, ladders, poles, railings, etc.)

The rules are as follows…

One person is it.  They must, while standing on the ground, close their eyes and count to ten while spinning,

With their eyes remaining closed, they must then attempt to either tag one of the other players

OR…. =)

Yell the word, “Grounders!” (Or -for those who would like to spice it up a bit- the words, “Monkey on the ground!”) while one of the other players is on the ground.

If either of these take place, the person that has been tagged or caught on the ground, is then…

“IT”

and another round of the game begins.

(A few optional rules being:

1.  Blocking off certain areas of the playground, if the group is too small.

2. Having the floor of the walkways and platforms be considered “ground” as well as the gravel, sand, dirt, spongey rubber, or woodchips -whatever happens to constitute the ground at your play…ground.)

We usually play it at night… I’m not entirely sure why… but it does seem to make it more fun. =)

——————————————-

The park we went to tonight is a new park… In which the game of Grounders had never before been played.

AND!!!!

On the cement…

Before reaching the playground portion…

There lay, engraved in the false-stone…

Illuminated partially by God’s moonlight,

…partially by God’s starlight,

and mostly by…

Those annoying, yellow safety lights at the park…

A sun-dial… surrounded by a star-chart!

I…

was…

ecstatic!

It was grand.

Everything in the park had something to do with the concept of time and/or the objects in the sky… =)
Fascinating.

Anyway… we had a stellar time! =)

I think I will now go to bed… but first… to break the news to my brother…

May God bless you with spiritual ears like Samuel’s…

Obedience like Abraham’s…

Contentment like Joseph’s…

and love… like Christ’s…

(That last bit seems to trump the rest, doesn’t it?)

I don’t mind…

Keep Smyling, ya’ll!

-MAC <>< = )

P.S.

Try fitting the word, “Inasmuch” into a sentence today… see what happens. =)

Ha ha!

  1. Inasmuch as I value your suggestion, I failed to read your post on the prescribed day, and so will have to forego.
